COVID-19 Protocols for Participation

Putney Community Cares paused many of our programs and events during the COVID-19 pandemic. As we begin to reopen the Laura Heller Community Barn for activities again, we ask that participants review and acknowledge the following protocols. If you have any questions, please contact our Coordinator, Ruby McAdoo at coordinator@putneycommunitycares.org or (802) 387-5593.

  • Stay Home If You Are Sick: We require that you refrain from participating in any events or programs at Putney Community Cares if you are sick in any way or experiencing any possible symptoms of COVID-19, which include:

    • Fever (100. 4 F or higher)*

    • Cough

    • Shortness of breath/difficulty breathing

    • Chills

    • Fatigue

    • Muscle pain or aches

    • Headache

    • Sore throat

    • New loss of taste or smell

    • Congestion or runny nose

    • Nausea or vomiting

    • Diarrhea

  • Out-of-State Participants: Many who participate in events and programs at Putney Community Cares are from Putney, but some may travel from out-of-state. There are currently travel restrictions in place for out-of-state residents coming to Vermont. Please check Vermont’s Cross State Travel Guidelines for more information. Anyone returning or traveling to Vermont must follow Vermont’s mandatory quarantine policy. Exceptions to this policy apply only to those individuals who have been fully vaccinated, as long as 14 days have passed since receiving their final dose.

  • Vaccination Requirement: Anyone participating in events and programs at Putney Community Cares should be fully vaccinated. Putney Community Cares may request a copy of an individual’s vaccination certification, which will be kept on file. This requirement protects the well-being of all participants. Please contact us if you have questions or concerns about fulfilling this requirement.

  • Mask Usage: We require that everyone participating in events and programs at Putney Community Cares wear a face mask (see Department of Health Guidance on Face Masks). Participants must wear masks indoors and outdoors at all times. If participants are seated for eating and drinking, the 6 foot distancing rule must apply). There are no exceptions to this rule. If a group wishes to make an exception to the mask rule (because they are all fully vaccinated), they must receive express permission from Putney Community Cares prior to removing their masks.

  • Social Distancing: We require that you keep 6 feet distance between yourself and others at all Putney Community Cares events and programs.

  • Airflow & Building Use: For indoor events at the Laura Heller Community Barn, we require that participants open windows and doors to encourage airflow and ventilation. Putney Community Cares has a cycle of regular cleaning and sanitizing at the Barn.  We additionally encourage surface cleaning and the use of sanitizer by participants -- particularly when using any shared equipment or surfaces (such as weights for Strong Living).
