COVID-19 Protocols for Participation

Putney Community Cares asks that participants in our programs and events review and acknowledge the following protocols. The Program Committee of Putney Community Cares will periodically review and update these protocols. If you have any questions, please contact our Coordinator, Ruby McAdoo at or (802) 387-5593.

  • Stay Home If You Are Sick: We require that you refrain from participating in any events or programs at Putney Community Cares if you are sick in any way or experiencing any possible symptoms of COVID-19, which include:

    • Fever (100. 4 F or higher)

    • Cough

    • Shortness of breath/difficulty breathing

    • Chills

    • Fatigue

    • Muscle pain or aches

    • Headache

    • Sore throat

    • New loss of taste or smell

    • Congestion or runny nose

    • Nausea or vomiting

    • Diarrhea

  • Vaccinations: We encourage anyone participating in events and programs inside at Putney Community Cares to be fully vaccinated, with the most up-to-date booster. Unvaccinated individuals may participate in events with Putney Community Cares, though we ask that they wear a mask during participation.

  • Mask Usage & Social Distancing: During warmer weather when the windows and doors can be open for airflow and ventilation, masking is at the discretion of individual participants.  Unvaccinated individuals are asked to wear a mask for indoor events. Staff and Class Facilitators may ask a group to mask if there is any individual in the group who asks that the group stay masked. This guideline allows for flexibility while also protecting the well being of all participants. For all events, we encourage participants to maintain social distance (3-6 feet between yourself and others).

  • Airflow & Building Use: For indoor events at Putney Community Cares, we ask that participants open windows and doors to encourage airflow and ventilation. We encourage surface cleaning and the use of sanitizer by participants -- particularly when using any shared equipment or surfaces (such as weights for Living Strong).

  • Maximum Capacity for Events: The maximum capacity for events in the Laura Heller Community Barn is 18 people. This document will be updated periodically as our policy changes.
