COVID-19 Protocols for Participation

As Putney Community Cares begins to have activities again in the Laura Heller Community Barn, we ask that participants review and acknowledge the following protocols. If you have any questions, please contact our Coordinator, Ruby McAdoo at or (802) 387-5593.

  • Stay Home If You Are Sick: We require that you refrain from participating in any events or programs at Putney Community Cares if you are sick in any way or experiencing any possible symptoms of COVID-19, which include:

    • Fever (100. 4 F or higher)*

    • Cough

    • Shortness of breath/difficulty breathing

    • Chills

    • Fatigue

    • Muscle pain or aches

    • Headache

    • Sore throat

    • New loss of taste or smell

    • Congestion or runny nose

    • Nausea or vomiting

    • Diarrhea

  • Vaccination Requirement: Anyone participating in events and programs inside the Laura Heller Community Barn should be fully vaccinated. Unvaccinated individuals may participate in outdoor events with Putney Community Cares.  This requirement protects the well-being of all participants. Please contact us if you have questions or concerns about fulfilling this requirement.

  • Mask Usage & Social Distancing: As everyone participating in indoor events is expected to be fully vaccinated, it is up to each individual if they choose to wear a mask. For outdoor events (which may include unvaccinated individuals), we ask that unvaccinated participants maintain social distance (6 feet between yourself and others) and use a mask when social distancing is not possible.    (For more information on face masks, see Department of Health Guidance on Face Masks).

  • Airflow & Building Use: For indoor events at the Laura Heller Community Barn, we encourage participants to open windows and doors to encourage airflow and ventilation. Putney Community Cares has a cycle of regular cleaning and sanitizing at the Barn.  We additionally encourage surface cleaning and the use of sanitizer by participants -- particularly when using any shared equipment or surfaces (such as weights for Living Strong).

  • Maximum Capacity for Events: The maximum capacity for events in the Laura Heller Community Barn is 30 people. This document will be updated periodically as our policy changes.
