Gentle Yoga
This program has currently been paused.
As we age, the yoga we practiced in our 40’s, 50’s and even 60’s is frequently no longer a good fit for the bodies we’re currently living in, yet we may want more than a typical ‘gentle’ class which may provide little challenge and benefit.
Join us in deconstructing yoga poses down to their essential components to create a practice that works for the body you’re living in NOW. Emphasis will be on joint mobilization, coordination, balancing, and functional stretching and strengthening. This class is for all bodies regardless of yoga experience. The only prerequisite is to be able to get up and down from the floor. The class will be taught at an accessible level, with variations offered for those who want a more challenging experience. We will make liberal use of chairs for support.
Lisa Nigro is a 60-year-old yoga instructor who has been teaching yoga for all ages and ability levels for 30 years, and has developed a keen intuition for how to modify/adjust any pose for any body to provide maximum benefit; lots of individual attention is provided.
Classes take place at Putney Community Cares on Wednesdays, 4-5 p.m.
Cost: $100 per session -- This program will have a minimum of 10 classes per session.
$15/class for drop-in
