Living Strong
Living Strong is a weekly bone-building exercise group. It provides strength training using hand and leg weights, balance exercises for agility and to decrease the likelihood of falls, and flexibility exercises for joint mobility. βThe program was originally created at Tufts University. Each class is guided by participants in the exercise group as a shared activity. The class meets 2x per year with a physical therapist who provides guidance.
β
This program will have a "hybrid" structure, in that Mondays will be in person and Thursdays via zoom (for individuals who wish to join zoom AND have learned the exercise form in-person). This structure may change in the future as the group's needs change. Classes (both in-person and zoom) typically take place on Mondays and Thursdays from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. The cost for participation is as follows -- payment for each 10-week session:
-$50 (attending in-person & zoom possibly)
-$20 (attending only via zoom, permission needed)
β
The in-person group prefers that individuals register for the full session, though drop-in payment is possible at a rate of $8/class. Please contact Coordinator Ruby McAdoo at 802-387-5593 or coordinator@putneycommunitycares.org for more information or to join the group.
